Author Evening, October 5th. Monica Goksøyr // Slemme jenter - In conversation with Odd Goksøyr

In August, Monica Goksøyr made her debut as an author with the short story collection "Slemme jenter" (Mean Girls). On Thursday, you can meet her at Runde Miljøsenter, where she will read from and talk about her powerful first book.

Odd Goksøyr will guide us steadily through the evening, and we will also get to enjoy some musical interludes from Odd along the way.

Monica Goksøyr, born in 1990, grew up on Runde. She lives in Oslo and works as a lawyer. Monica made her literary debut with Aschehoug publishing house with the short story collection "Slemme jenter" (Mean Girls) in August of this year. The book, written in Nynorsk, has so far received positive reviews in BT, Dag og Tid, and Klassekampen.

- Odd Goksøyr is a poet, author, and troubadour with extensive experience. He debuted with the poetry collection "Ein av dei vanlege dagane" (One of Those Ordinary Days) with Noregs Boklag in 1976, and has since produced an impressive body of work. Worth mentioning are "aljamarkiR" published in 2020, and 4 translated collections by Robert Bly (from 2014-2022). Most of his work from '75 to '85 received excellent reviews in Klassekampen, Vinduet, and Vårt Land, among others.
Odd has translated 40 poems by Christine De Luca from Shetlandic - and no fewer than 20 songs by Cohen. Perhaps he will treat us to one of his Cohen covers this evening?
