Do you want to help develop a new destination for food culture on Runde?

We are looking for someone who wants to help further develop the visitor center at Runde Environmental Centre in Sunnmøre, Møre og Romsdal. The coast right outside our doorstep has been a source of food for thousands of years, and now we need YOU to join us on our journey to develop an exciting year-round destination.
Our food vision is to preserve the traditions around us while constantly drawing inspiration and renewing ourselves. We have a high volume of guests during the summer months, but we are working through various projects to increase year-round operations. We already have a strong focus on local ingredients and sustainable food, but we want even more of this!
We are constantly developing new, educational activities for visitors, focusing on the combination of research and experience. We also want the dining experience to be a larger part of this.
We also offer accommodation in nice apartments that are rented out to visitors throughout the year.
We offer
· Permanent, full-time position. However, we are very open to considering alternative employment arrangements that might suit you best. Please feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities.
· Salary by agreement.
· Excellent opportunities to participate in courses and professional development activities.
· You will be part of a team that strives for development, loves creative solutions, and looks out for one another.
· A strong local network, so if you are moving from afar, we will help ensure you settle in well—even outside of working hours.
· A solid professional network with other catering businesses and producers in our region.
· The opportunity to significantly influence how sustainable foraging can be used in a modern kitchen.
· Access to a fantastic hiking area, right in the heart of one of Norway's most important food sources.
Who we are looking for
· Since we are located on the open coast with one of Norway's most beautiful bird cliffs just a walk away, it is a great advantage if you are interested in nature and outdoor life, and see the potential in wild plants and foraging as part of the dining experience.
· A trade certificate as a chef is desirable but not a requirement. Great emphasis will be placed on relevant experience and personal qualities.
· You must be able to communicate in one of the Scandinavian languages.
· Guest service is an important part of the job, so strong communication skills are also highly valued.
· A driver's license and access to a car are preferred.
Key responsibilities include
· Daily kitchen operations (ordering supplies, menu planning, recipe costing, menu design, and other tasks related to running a modern kitchen).
· Developing and hosting outdoor courses for guests with a focus on sustainability and food.
· Contributing to development projects in collaboration with other businesses.
· Participating in the development of a new food concept at the center.
