Runde Symposium 2022

On May 5th and 6th, the Runde Symposium took place on Runde under the theme "Ocean Nation Norway 2.0," as a collaboration between the Runde Environmental Centre and the Institute of Marine Research.

The participants represent an interdisciplinary group of researchers, elected officials, and representatives from organizations and the business sector, who have engaged in passionate discussions about the future and value creation, with ecosystem management at the core.

Sissel Rogne, Director of Research at the Institute of Marine Research, summarizes that the symposium left everyone with immense enthusiasm for the creativity, professionalism, and genuine eagerness to solve complex issues. "This symposium provides us with contacts and insights that allow us to discuss things differently. We dare to be a bit more vulnerable and test new ideas. That is essential when we are to take the next leaps forward," she said after the final panel debate at the conference.
