Spring Cleanup Day, March 22nd

Saturday, March 21st is the national beach cleanup day, Vårryddedagen, and to mark the occasion, we are organizing a beach cleanup on Sunday, March 22nd at Voldsund.

The event is organized in collaboration with Runde Environmental Centre, Opplev Runde, Søre Sunnmøre Reinhaldsverk, the Møre and Romsdal Marine Litter Network, Herøy Volunteer Centre, Herøy Kayak Club, and others. The cleanup is open to everyone, and there are areas suitable for people of all ages. Opplev Runde will provide light refreshments, coffee, and juice. Cleanup bags and gloves will be provided at the event. The plan is to clean as much of Voldsund and the surrounding areas as possible. Herøy Kayak Club is planning a trip around Voldsund to reach areas that are difficult to access on foot, while other volunteers will clean different parts of the area based on how far they wish to walk and their comfort level with navigating the shoreline.

After the cleanup, you are welcome to join us at the Runde Environmental Centre with Kari Prestgaard and Astor Andersen, who are artists and will be hosting fun activities for us. Read more here
