SJØNÆR 2025

A fantastic weekend at Runde - with a lot of love for the ocean
What a start to the weekend! Friday and Saturday we teamed up with Njord Freediver and Herøy Dykkerklubb to bring together over 40 adventurous participants eager to experience the ocean up close. Friday evening marked the festival opening and the first meeting for many. We spent the time planning Saturday's dives, prepping gear, and, of course, enjoying the festival's traditional Friday tacos!
Saturday morning kicked off with a lovely yoga session and a hearty breakfast before heading out on the dive boats to various locations. Scuba diving, freediving, coasteering, and kayaking awaited – and nature truly delivered! A love for the ocean was the common thread throughout the day, and lunch after the activities was filled with great conversations and shared experiences.
Then it was time for After Sea – a gathering where stories and knowledge took center stage. We enjoyed engaging presentations from Kajakk-Kim, marine biologist Erle, Norway's coolest freediver Mari Aarbø and the inspiring Ingjerd and Dan-Willy from Swim4Fjords. An evening of tapas, laughter, and long conversations rounded off a perfect day.
Sunday we opened up for Sunday Funday – a free activity day for everyone. It was buzzing with life from morning till evening, with nearly 200 people participating in various activities!
With equipment and activities from BUA, Herøy Kayak Club, Kajakk-Kim, Njord Freediver/Herøy Diving Club and Sunnmørsbadet , both young and old got to try freediving, kayaking, coasteering, all kinds of play and paddling equipment, and even funballs on the water. The divers from Saturday took new trips out by boat, and at the end of the day, everyone met up for pizza. The pizza tasted extra good for the many who had thrown themselves into the activities.
It was a tired but happy group that packed up the equipment on Sunday evening. Grateful for the opportunity to create so many fantastic nature experiences for all the participants, good friends who contributed, and not least the sponsors who made this possible.
See you by the sea in 2026!
