Shoreline researcher

You don't have to go far to find strange and incredible creatures. On this trip, our experienced nature guide takes budding scientists of all ages out to explore the curious creatures of the shoreline. We will examine what lives in the intertidal zone and take scientific samples to see if we can find any microscopic organisms. Equipped with magnifying glasses, identification keys, and an aquarium, we will head to the areas around Runde Environmental Centre to see what we can discover. Perhaps we will find something new together, and you will get an insight into what a real scientist does.
This activity is perfect for all ages and makes for an ideal family outing. Since the trip takes place on the shoreline, we recommend sturdy footwear and clothes that can handle a bit of wear and tear.
The experience includes
- An educational experience with a nature guide
- Equipment for taking scientific samples on the shore
Practical information
Since the trip takes place on the shoreline, we recommend good shoes with ankle support. The west coast can have challenging weather, so it is wise to bring waterproof outerwear and practical, warm clothing. We also encourage you to bring a dry change of clothes and shoes.
- A bottle of water
- Hat and gloves if it is cold
- Camera
We can tailor the experience for groups upon request, all year round. Send an email to booking@runde.no or call +47 700 80 800 for more information.
