Tangsafari

Salty, nutritious, healthy, and slimy.
Have you ever wondered how to use seaweed and kelp in your cooking? If you are curious about what these strange plants are and what they can be used for, this is the trip for you.
Seaweed sways on the water's surface and spreads out along the shore, and it doesn't always look very appetizing, but have you ever actually tasted it? If you dare to take the plunge, you can dive into a fantastic world of delicious food. Our skilled nature guide will take you on a journey into the world between the sea and the land, where food resources abound.
After a short meeting at Runde Environmental Centre, the nature guide will take you down to the sea. With our eyes on the water, we will taste the best ingredients you can find in the intertidal zone. The tour takes place in and by the sea, over uneven terrain. We will taste raw seaweed, fry some, and perhaps you will get to try other special delicacies?

Practical information
Since the tour takes place along the shore, we recommend good shoes with ankle support. Western Norway is a place with harsh weather, so it is a good idea to bring waterproof outerwear and practical, warm clothing.
The tour can be tailored for private groups; we adapt the time and location to your preferences. Send an email to booking@runde.no or call +47 70080 800 for more information.
